With fierce debate raging nationwide ahead of the vote in three weeks’ time, a church is preparing to host its own EU referendum event.
Next Tuesday (June 14), St John’s Church in St John’s Road, Epping, will host the debate simply titled ‘In or Out?’
Calling for the UK to remain in the European Union will be Dr Marina Prentoulis, a senior lecturer in media and politics at the University of East Anglia and a spokesperson for the Another Europe campaign.
Supporting Brexit will be Andrew Smith, a former UKIP parliamentary candidate for Epping Forest and a finance director.
Dr Prentoulis will be joined by Harlow councillor Joel Charles, and an unannounced fourth speaker will join Mr Smith.
Hosted by Churches Together, the event is free to enter and will run in the church between 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
