Police officers braved the stocks to help raise £2,000 at a primary school’s summer fair.
Edinburgh Primary School staged a day of fun for the local community on Saturday (July 9), in order to fund new equipment for pupils.
One of the highlights was a visit by Waltham Forest police officers, who took part in a “Sponge-a-Policeman” event, where constables drew straws to decide who pupils would throw wet sponges at.
Other events included an “Edinburgh's Got Talent” show, arts and crafts stalls, a bouncy castle and traditional fairground games.
Lead Organiser and PTA member Amarjit Myers said: “The school is a real hub for the local community.
“The fair has been an annual event since it moved to Queens Road in 2011 providing kids, parents and the local community with an opportunity to come together to celebrate and have some fun.
Thanks to all the volunteers include the pupils, parents and teachers but also residents and the local constabulary who made this event so successful. We’re all delighted.”
