A&E heroes
On December 23 last year I went to the A&E department of Princess Alexandra Hospital with low abdominal pain. At around 9pm I was discharged.
Two scans had been carried out, I had seen two doctors and been given a preliminary diagnosis. I was told that a further scan using a dye would be necessary and that was carried out on December 24.
On January 13 I met a consultant who confirmed the original diagnosis. On January 25 the problem was dealt with by day surgery. I was kept fully informed by the doctors and nurses throughout. I think that is incredibly good.
I know there are problems with the NHS but credit where credit is due. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in my treatment from the receptionists in A&E to the nurse who finally discharged me.
