THE WOMAN behind the Wanstead Art Trail is calling for people to get involved in this year’s event.
Amateur artist Donna Mizzi has chosen “Nature – a breath of fresh air” as this year’s theme in light of the capital’s growing pollution problem.
Now in its eighth year, the art trail sees Wanstead’s shops, restaurants, and community spaces full of locals' artwork.
This year’s event will run from September 9 to September 24, but those thinking of taking part need to have signed up via the Wanstead Art Group by the end of this month.
Ms Mizzi, of Rectory Crescent, said: “It can be a real thrill to show off your work in public.
“But the trail is also a great community-building event and gets more people visiting Wanstead to explore its great selection of bars, cafes, and restaurants.”
Art Group Wanstead membership is free, but the trail fee is £25. Any amateur or professional artists are welcome and can work can include painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, mosaics, and textiles.
