CHILDREN ditched stuffy cars and used their legs to get to school as part of Walk to School month.
Year 5 pupils at Chigwell School were armed with hi-vis jackets, travel diaries and fun badges to encourage them to walk throughout the school term.
Andy Stubbs, headteacher at Chigwell School Junior, said: "We strive to encourage children to walk to school throughout the year as we believe the benefits are invaluable to our pupils.
"We are very grateful for London Square’s support. It was wonderful to see so many pupils gathering together to participate in the Walk to School activity and we are confident that this enthusiasm will continue into the next school year."
The school teamed up with developer London Square as part of the project.
