A 10-year-old schoolboy has suffered head injuries after being hit by a car.
The incident happened in Freedom Close, off Blackhorse Road, Walthamstow shortly before 8.30am today (Wednesday, July 12).
Paramedics treated the boy at the scene before he was taken to an east London hospital. At this stage his condition is unknown.
Reports on social media suggested the boy is a pupil at St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School in Longfield Avenue, Walthamstow.
Haydn Walsh, the school’s business manager, declined to confirm if this is true, only saying the school was aware of this morning's incident.
Police cordoned off a section of Blackhorse Road near the intersection with Lloyd Road before re-opening it shortly after noon.
No arrests have been made.
