A man in his sixties has died after being hit by lorry.

The incident happened on Friday night in the Bakers Arms area of Leyton.

Reports on social media suggest a Tesco delivery lorry struck a man across from Iceland supermarket in Lea Bridge Road near the junction with Hoe Street.

While police believe they know who the man is, formal identification has yet to take place and efforts are being made to inform his next of kin.
