FOUR 14-year-old youths from the Debden and Theydon Bois area have been questioned by police following a spate of graffiti incidents in the Debden and surrounding areas.
Officers have been investigating various incidents over the past few weeks PC Emily Gizzi, who is leading the investigation, said: "Damage caused by graffiti costs the community thousands of pounds each year to get it removed. The people responsible for this spate of damage are writing the words CODES', SHOK', NERO', EELS' and VIPER', among others, on walls and other roadside furniture.
"Although some evidence has been forthcoming I need to speak to any resident who has seen people writing graffiti or has information as to who is responsible."
Anyone with any information should ring PC Gizzi at Loughton Police Station on 020 8502 3881. Calls will be treated in confidence.
