A SPECIAL guest joined nursery children on a fundraising expedition.
Po from the Teletubbies accompanied dozens of Peter Pan’s Day Nursery children in Barkingside on the 15th annual big toddle on Thursday, August 31.
Toddlers traversed Thomas Barnardo Way and the village green before heading to the children’s charity’s “historic home”.
Claudine Pendle, manager of Peter Pan’s Day Nursery, hailed a successful day.
She said: “We had a fantastic day, everyone really enjoyed themselves and the children had lots of fun.
“We’ve been organising Big Toddles for Barnardo’s for the past 14 years and it was wonderful to be able to do it again on the 20th anniversary, especially with one of the Teletubbies cheering us on,” she added.
Adventurers were also joined by carers, parents and nursery staff. They were rewarded with medals after completing one or two laps of the green.
Javed Khan, chief executive of Barnardo’s, praised the children for their “outstanding effort.”
He also thanked DHX Brands and Louis Kennedy for the “fantastic” Teletubbies collaboration.
Thousands of children from across the UK participated in the walk, which has raised more than £14 million since its launch.
