BAKERS raised thousands of pounds with a “mouth-watering array” of cakes for cancer sufferers.
The “Man Bake”, involving male admin staff at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Trust (BHRUT), clinched £492 for Macmillan Cancer Support with a range of treats including chocolate and cherry cake, lemon drizzle cake and muffins.
Staff manning a stall packed with homemade and store-bought cakes raised £2,358.
Alix Holmes, Macmillan cancer information officer said: “We had an amazing coffee morning. Thank you so much to all the helpers, those who donated and bought cakes and to our partner, Sodexo, which donated tea and coffee.”
