CARE HOME staff hailed the “excellent” national award acknowledging their high quality service.
Cambridge Nursing Home in Wanstead clinched Gold Standard Framework Accreditation for end-of-life and palliative care.
Rashid Ebrahimkhan, director of the care home, expressed delight at recognition.
He said: “It feels great. The staff put in a lot of hard work over two or three years. They thought at last someone is recognising what they are doing.
“We are known in the area as a good nursing home and now we have a national accolade which is excellent.”
A celebratory dinner has been planned for Friday, November 10, and another around Christmas for staff unable to make this week’s party.
Mr Ebrahimkhan, who has been director for 15 years, runs the care home with wife Lilette.
A total of 49 patients live at the home.
