COMMUTERS can look forward to step-free access at two vital tube stations.
Sadiq Khan, mayor of London, has pledged to make Snaresbrook and Debden tube stations step-free by 2022.
Snaresbrook and Debden stations are two of 13 stations across the tube network to benefit from the additional £200 million devoted to making the underground accessible.
Councillor Jas Athwal, Labour leader of Redbridge Council, tweeted: “Today, Sadiq Khan and I announced the third central line station in Redbridge to get step free access.
“Snaresbrook station will be added to the already announced Newbury Park and South Woodford stations. This is a significant investment by Labour.”
The next wave of investment will bring the number of tube stations with step-free access to platforms to more than 100.
