POORLY children will be able to get music therapy sessions at home thanks to The Amy Winehouse Foundation.
The Foundation awarded Haven House Children’s Hospice a fresh £14,300 grant to fund a junior music therapist.
The therapist will provide a home service two days a week for a year on behalf of the Woodford Green hospice.
Music therapy services at Haven House have been part-funded by The Amy Winehouse Foundation since 2014.
Roxanne Scott, music therapist at Haven House says: “Through the incredible generosity of the Amy Winehouse Foundation we are able to extend choice to our families and provide music therapy at home as well as in our Holistic Care Centre.
“Each year we support more and more families, however there will always be some who prefer to receive care at home for their children.
“To have the continued support of the Amy Winehouse Foundation is truly wonderful and this new grant enables us to reach more children through music therapy.
"Without this therapeutic input, some of these children’s voices may never be heard.”
Music therapy can help children with life-limiting conditions build their communication, physical and social skills.
