Haven House Children’s Hospice is looking for entrants to add some sparkle to its women’s charity walk.
The Woodford Green hospice is holding its first-ever 10k Sparkle Walk on Friday, May 18,
The trek will begin at Haven House at 6pm, with walkers taking a route through Woodford, Roding Valley Country Park, South Woodford, before finishing at The Cuckfield pub in Wanstead.
The £15 entry fee includes a glass of sparkling wine, a t-shirt and a glitter headbopper. Walkers are encouraged to show their sparkle side and get creative.
Haven House was founded in 2003 and has since provided palliative and holistic care for more than 650 babies, children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.
Katie Tyler, events manager at Haven House, said: “We love to sparkle whether it’s through our colourful sensory toys, the glitter used in our art activities or the beautiful spring flowers in our grounds.
“Whether you want to remember someone special, have a great night out with friends, celebrate our 15th Birthday or get in the spirit for the Royal Wedding, everyone is welcome to walk.”
Walkers are asked to raise a minimum of £50 sponsorship each for taking part in the event, as registration fees only cover the cost of running the event.
