The unveiling of a new purple PE kit and a treasure hunt are part of a school's tenth anniversary celebrations.

On October 17 Epping Primary will turn one decade old.

To start the celebrations in style new sportswear was designed and given to every child in assembly.

Over the coming month birthday celebrations include a picnic, a treasure hunt, family and a celebratory stay-and-play after school, as well as visiting circus experts The Workshop Company paid for by the Friends of Epping Primary.

At the end of the celebration period the wider community are invited to a grand Finale Parade on October 17 from 2pm.

Tracy O’Donnell, headteacher, said: "I can't believe how quickly the 10 years have gone.

"It has been a honour to be part of the school over the past 10 years, watching and being part of it grow and develop into a great, over-subscribed school within the community.

"The pupils and staff are proud of all that we have achieved and look forward to many more successful years ahead."

In September 2008 the school opened after amalgamating the old Epping Infant and Epping Junior Schools, which had been separate schools on their own sites.

It would be a further five terms before the newly founded school moved into their brand new purpose built building on the Coronation Hill site in March 2010.
