A road metres from yesterday's fatal stabbing was cordoned off by police.

At 1.28pm the force received reports of a man being chased by a group of youths on St Stephen’s Close, Waltham Forest.

Officers attended the scene and found no trace of any victim.

At 1.35pm police were notified of a man with a slash injury to his face on Bromley Road.

The road is one street over from where a 14-year-old boy was stabbed to death last night.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish whether this man is the victim of the initial call to police.

He was taken to a nearby hospital and his injuries have been deemed not life threatening or life changing.

No arrests have been made; enquiries are ongoing.
