A teenager charged with the murder of 26-year-old man is to appear at the Central Criminal Court.
Carlos Rueda Velez, 18, of North Birkbeck Road in Leyton, was charged with the murder on Saturday, March 9.
He appeared at Thames Magistrates' Court later that day where he was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
Both cases were sent to trial at the Old Bailey Court in Central London on March 12 (today) or other dates that the court directs.
He was remanded in custody for these charges.
The teenager is being charged with the murder of David Martinez-Valencia who was stabbed to death last Wednesday, (March 6).
Met Police and the London Ambulance Service were called to reports of a stabbing at an address in North Birkbeck Road at around 4.25pm that afternoon.
Mr Martinez was found with stab wounds and died at the scene.
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command continue to investigate the circumstances.
