A Walthamstow Primary school celebrated an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating by unveiling new school banners.

South Grove Primary School received the education watchdog's highest rating after an inspection on January 8 and 9.

Published on February, the report gave the school 'outstanding' results in all categories.

Inspectors praised significant improvements, a "relentless" pursuit of the highest standards, "consistently excellent" teaching, and pupils' "excellent" attitudes to learning and "exemplary" behaviour.

Head teacher Julie Maltwood said: "The result of the inspection as an outstanding school in all categories reflects the hard work of all the staff, pupils, parents and governors to ensure with great determination that as a learning community the very best learning experiences.

“Congratulations to everyone for this fantastic achievement!”

Chairman of Governors Charlotte Slade also praised the efforts of the pupils. She said: “We thank all the children; for their hard work, love of learning, exemplary behaviour and kindness towards children and adults alike.”

Cllr Clare Coghill, leader of Waltham Forest Council, said: “Congratulations to South Grove School for their outstanding Ofsted rating. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of their teachers and staff.”
