(League Two)

AN Aaron Mclean double condemned Dagenham to a third straight league defeat on Tuesday.

Mclean scored in quick succession late on to extend Posh's unbeaten run to nine games and keep the promotion dream alive.

Paul Benson had given Daggers a 30th minute lead when he ended a slick team move with a smart finish past Posh keeper Mark Tyler. Dean Keates grabbed Posh's equaliser.

Daggers started the game brightly and created several early chances. On six minutes Chris Moore headed wide from Richard Graham's cross, and Sam Sloma volleyed wide when well placed on 11 minutes.

Moore then forced Posh keeper Mark Tyler into a superb save following a quick counter attack.

At the other end, Tony Roberst thwarted Keates with a decent stop, while former Dagger Craig Mackail-Smith struck a post with a glancing header.

After the break Posh stepped their attacking play up a gear and sealed the game in 13 devastating minutes.

In the 69th minute the home side drew level when Keates fired his first goal for the club into the roof of the net.

Mackail-Smith, who scored 38 goals for the Victoria Road club, then came back to haunt his old team mates, playing a hand in both of Mclean's goals - the first a close range header in the 79th minute, the second a sweeping shot in the 82nd minute from a neat pass.

Ben Strevens missed a gilt-edged chance for Daggers in between Mclean's efforts, heading over the bar from close range.
