- The mounting pressure comes as Public Health England yesterday confirmed there has so been 88,000 total infections across the UK.

- In Essex there has been 1,484 confirmed cases and 18,000 in London.

- In Waltham Forest there has been 536 infections and in Redbridge 498.

- One further coronavirus death was today confirmed at the Princess Alexandra Hospital - bringing the Harlow hospital's total death toll to 118.

- A total of 246 coronavirus patients have died at hospitals run by Barts Health NHS Trust, with ten deaths confirmed today.

- At Barking, Havering, and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust 134 coronavirus patients have died with one further death announced yesterday.
