New NHS figures show which Waltham Forest and Redbridge neighbourhoods are the most and least vaccinated against Covid-19.

Tens of thousands of people have now been vaccinated across the two boroughs, helping to reduce infection rates and hospital deaths.

Redbridge, one of the boroughs worst hit by Covid, had given the first jab to around 73,000 residents as of March 8, while Waltham Forest had given almost 57,000 first doses.

The rise in vaccinations has corresponded with a sharp drop in Covid patients dying in hospital, with less than 30 deaths recorded across seven major east London hospitals last week.

In Waltham Forest, more residents have been vaccinated in the north, more rural end of the borough than in the south towards Leytonstone.

The top three most vaccinated neighbourhoods are Highams Park and Chingford Green East, where more than 3,000 residents have had their first dose, and Chingford Green West, where 2,790 residents have had a dose.

The least vaccinated neighbourhoods are Fulbourne Road & Walthamstow Forest, Lea Bridge and William Morris, with around 1,500 people vaccinated in each area.

However, the opening of a new vaccine hub in Walthamstow Library could serve to even out this discrepancy.

In Redbridge, the most vaccinated neighbourhoods are Clayhall, Woodford Wells and Snaresbrook, with around 4,000 first doses administered in each.

The least vaccinated areas are Ilford Town East, Woodford Bridge and Loxford Park, where only 1,129 people have received a dose.
