A teenager has been charged over the death of 18-year-old Hussain Chaudhry, who was fatally stabbed in Walthamstow on Wednesday.

The Metropolitan Police have said that Marvin Ward, aged 18, of Westwood Road, Ilford, has been charged with the murder.

Police were called to Lea Bridge Road at around 5.20pm on March 17 to reports of a stabbing, and Mr Chaudhry was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr Ward has also been charged with two counts of attempted murder, after a man in his 20s and a woman in her 40s – both related to Mr Chaudhry - suffered slash injuries to their hands during the incident.

Mr Ward has also been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

Police have made two further arrests, including a second teenager detained on suspicion of murder.

The 18-year-old was taken into police custody after the Met attended an address in Bedfordshire.

A third 18-year-old man arrested at the same location on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Mr Chaudhry was stabbed after he allegedly tried to fight off a robber trying to steal a designer jacket.

A post-mortem examination held on Thursday (March 18) declared the cause of death as hypovolemic shock and a stab wound to the neck.

The man and woman who were also injured have been discharged from hospital.
