A woman has died in a fire in a block of flats in Chingford.
London Fire Brigade was called to the fire in a block of flats in the The Ridgeway at about 11.45pm on Thursday, April 22.
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Chingford, Woodford and Enfield fire stations rushed to the scene.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a woman from the affected flat, but she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A ground floor flat in a three-storey block was damaged by the fire.
The fire was under control by 1.14am. The cause is under investigation.
