The picture at the top of this page is of High Beech Road in Loughton c1910.

The road was developed during the 1890s, with many of the houses on the east side designed by architect Edmond Egan, who was most famous locally for designing Lopping Hall.

East London and West Essex Guardian Series:

The west side of the road was developed much later.
