A primary school has been celebrating its 50 year anniversary this month.
And children at Oakhill Primary School in Woodford marked the milestone by turning back time and dressing up in outfits that have been popular throughout the decades.
The school first opened its doors to pupils on January 10 1972.
The next event is a competition to design a commemorative mural for an outside wall. The winning pupils’ artwork will be transferred to the wall by a local artist.
There are further plans throughout the year for a disco, street party, musical performances, an art exhibition, themed school lunches, and tree planting.
Chairman of governors at Oakhill, Debbie Strowbridge, said: "I am delighted to congratulate Oakhill Primary School on achieving its 50th anniversary. The governors and I are so proud to be part of a school that has always had such firm roots in the community it serves.
"We are indebted to the commitment and dedication of staff, past and present, whose vocation has been to achieve the best outcomes for our wonderful children."
