Children across the Guardian's areas had a great time dressing up as their favourite characters to celebrate World Book Day – and you can see how some of them marked the occasion in school by looking through our special gallery.

Thanks to the efforts of staff at 13 schools in East London and Epping Forest, we are able to bring you more than 50 pictures of children enjoying the annual celebration of reading and books.

Scroll through the gallery at the top of this page and see if you can spot your child enjoying World Book Day in the classroom.
