RAISING awareness and appreciation of science was the theme of a programme of activities at Salisbury Manor Primary School during British Science Week 2022.

As part of a national lab coat competition, pupils in each class were challenged to create a design around the theme of food and food waste. A total of 36 of the best designs will be submitted to a national competition.

In a poster competition, pupils were encouraged to create colourful designs inspired by the theme of ‘growth’.

Alongside this, pupils were inspired to read a range of non-fiction books and through ‘STEM story time’, with readings of books such as Rosie Revere, Engineer, Ada Twist, Scientist and Iggy Peck, Architect, youngsters learnt about the range of jobs on offer in STEM (Science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
