A bus stop was destroyed after it was hit by a car.

Police were called to Shernhall Street in Walthamstow on Saturday (April 30) at around 4am following the crash.

At the scene, officers found a black Volkswagen had collided into the Our Lady & St George Catholic School bus stop.

Images show that the front of the car was badly damaged, and the bust stop sign completely toppled over and smashed onto the ground.

According to the Metropolitan Police, there were no arrests following the crash and no one was reported as injured.
