Above is the Manor Hotel at the bottom of Friday Hill in Chingford Hatch around 1935.

The hotel replaced an earlier pub called the Dun Cow that dated back to around 1834.

The hotel was replaced again in the mid-1960s by the ‘Horseless Carriage’ and finally ‘Wheelright’ before being demolished in 2003 for housing development.
