A 16-year-old has been charged with attempted murder after a teenager was stabbed while riding the bus.

Police were called at 3.18pm on March 21 to reports of an injured male on a route 158 bus in Blackhorse Lane at the junction with Sutton Road, Walthamstow.

A 16-year-old boy was found with knife injuries.

He was taken by the London Ambulance Service to an east London hospital.

He remains there in a serious but stable condition.

A different 16-year-old boy was arrested on March 22.

He was charged yesterday (Thursday, March 24) with attempted murder and possession of a knife.

He will appear at Stratford Youth Court today (Friday, March 24).
