Over 100 years separates these photographs of Epping High Road.
The photo from the 1900s clearly shows the water fountain.
The 'Squires' building on the left (demolished in 1938) was once owned and lived in by the Cottis Family, who were a major employer in the town.
Their foundry was behind the building and they manufactured goods for the farming community. Only Cottis Lane still survives.
