A DAY nursery in Chingford has celebrated its 25th anniversary.

Tiny Tots Day Nursery opened in August 1998, with just the downstairs serving as a nursery before permission was granted for the whole building to be occupied.

The nursery is registered for 40 children and has many long-serving staff members, including some who have worked there for over 20 years.

Tiny Tots is the longest-standing nursery in Chingford and still has the same owner. To mark its anniversary, a week of celebrations was organised, including former Spurs, West Ham and England footballer Jermain Defoe joining in a football session with pre-schoolers.

A spokesperson for Tiny Tots said: "It was an amazing experience and we would like to thank Jermain for taking the time to visit us to celebrate our 25th anniversary."
