The black and white picture shows The Sirloin pub on Friday Hill in Chingford in 1952 after being opened by the chairman of Watney, Combe, Reid & Co Ltd.
The property was first recorded on maps back in 1844 when it was part of the Friday Hill manor estate.
It is believed that King Charles II once knighted a loin of beef on Friday Hill and that is why the pub originally had the name ‘Sir Loin’.
The pub is now called The Dove.
