Police have released CCTV footage of a man they wish to speak to following a hate crime at Bank underground station.

On November 12, 2023 at around 4:45pm, victims walking through Bank underground station were approached by a man who verbally abused them.

The victims, a couple, were then followed, before one was kicked and another punched.

British Transport Police are calling the incident a homophobic attack and are investigating it as a hate crime.

Officers have released CCTV footage of a man they believe may have information that could assist their investigation.  

Anyone with information should contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 405040 quoting the reference 2300134350.

Information can also be reported to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Do you recognise this man?  

“Officers investigating a hate crime on the London Underground are today releasing this image in connection.  

“At around 4.45pm on 12 November, the victims were walking through Bank underground station when a man approached them and began verbally abusing them.

“The man then proceeded to follow the couple, before kicking one of the victims and punching the other.

“Officers would like to speak to the man in the image as they believe he may have information that could assist their investigation.  

“Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 405040 quoting reference 2300134350.

“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
