A CHARITY is appealing for Bradford people and businesses to raise much-needed funds through coffee mornings.

The district is home to more than 85,000 people aged 65 plus in Bradford district.

Age UK Bradford District revealed it is facing a year-on-year increase in people accessing their services.

This ranges from advice and casework, groups, and activities that help people lead financially secure, happier lives.

But more funding is needed, the charity said.

It has asked the public to give their support by holding coffee mornings at their homes, businesses, churches, village halls and community spaces.

Fundraising assistant Lynette Elphee said: "This is the first time we have planned coffee mornings across the district and we're looking forward to getting involved with local people and businesses who are generous enough to support us and the event."

People can set up an event page and find supporting materials by visiting the charity’s website.
