Two people have been rushed to a major trauma centre after a serious crash in Chingford which was attended by London's Air Ambulance.

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) was called at 7.12am today to reports of a crash on Sewardstone Road in Chingford.

Ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars and an incident response officer were sent to the scene.

"We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance," a LAS spokesperson added.

The LAS treated three people at the scene before taking two of them to a major trauma centre.

The third person was taken to a nearby hospital.

This came after a report on the AA website about a crash on Sewardstone Road at 6.52am today (July 21).

Traffic was slow in the area after a crash warning was shown on its website.
