On the edge of Chingford in Epping Forest is Connaught Waters.
Built out of marsh land in 1881 and further expanded in 1893, it was named after the Duke of Connaught who was appointed Forest Ranger in 1882.
It was a popular destination for day trippers. The boat house has long since gone.
