Pupils have been spreading festive joy to a care home in Chigwell.

Year 7 pupils from The Forest Academy in Ilford, their families, and staff organised a Christmas gift service in collaboration with Pinewood Care Home.

The pupils coordinated school-wide donations and took responsibility for donating, wrapping, and delivering the presents on December 19.

One pupil said: "I had such a lovely afternoon.

"I met some wonderful people and was so happy to be able to spread some Christmas joy."

Another added: "I felt so privileged to be able to spend the afternoon with Pinewood residents.

"It felt so good to be able to make people happy."

Ed Macleod, co-headteacher at The Forest Academy, said: “We are so proud of our staff, students and families in their desire to connect with the wider community and in the true spirit of Christmas give back to others at this time of year.”
