The Castle Hotel (left) in Woodford Green, seen here c1925,  was an early 19th century Inn and posting house, now a Grade II listed building.

These Inns became popular with visitors from the east end of London following the 1878 Epping Forest Act.

The bank on the right was rebuilt in 1921.
