A mural celebrating the endangered stag beetle has been officially unveiled next to the A12.
The mural, created by Becky Bolton and Louise Chappell of the artist duo Good Wives and Warriors, is located on both sides of the footbridge across the main road in Leytonstone.
"It’s really been a joy to paint this mural here with so many kind words, support and interest from local residents," said the artists.
"We think it’s definitely brightening up people’s walk back from Tesco."
The mural’s centrepiece is the stag beetle, which Waltham Forest Council said is on the endangered species list and often seen around the area near Epping Forest.

The artists designed the mural to organically "grow" from the patch of nature that was already at the mural site.
It features the plants that grow around the area, such as dandelions, poppies, oxeye daisies, thistles and goosegrass.
Becky was inspired to feature the stag beetle after seeing the endangered bugs flying around her Leytonstone garden.
Councillors Clyde Loakes, Rosalind Doré, and Ahsan Khan joined the artists at the mural's unveiling.
This project is part of the Let's Talk neighbourhood improvement programme, where Waltham Forest residents suggested local enhancements.
