Search the Public Notice PortalWhen I became leader of Harlow Council, I made a promise that we would deliver real change for every resident in every corner of our town.
Building Harlow’s Future is the plan to make that happen – and at its heart are six clear missions that guide everything we do.
We are transforming our council. We’ve stripped out waste, cut back-office bureaucracy, and put resources where they belong – on the frontline.
This means that repairs are carried out quicker, responses are faster and better value for every penny of council tax.
After decades of waiting, the regeneration of Harlow’s town centre is happening.
This year alone will see major construction begin on the new bus station and transport hub, Terminus Street, Market Square, Playhouse Quarter, and Broad Walk.
We’re delivering a town centre we can all be proud of.
The new Street Scene Priority Taskforce is tackling the forgotten clutter – from rusty railings to broken signs – the things that chip away at our pride.
Estates are being deep-cleaned, graffiti is being removed, and green spaces are being cared for - street by street.
Cllr Dan Harlow is proud to be the leader of Harlow Council (Image: Harlow Council) We are investing a record £2.5 million every week into our council homes, meaning we are delivering faster repairs, modernising properties, and seeing more new council homes under construction in over 30 years.
It’s why the number of outstanding repairs is now at the lowest level in our history.
We are attracting new investment, creating jobs, and backing local businesses – from revitalising neighbourhood shopping centres to bringing forward major employment sites. Harlow is the fastest-growing place in the country, and we are ensuring that growth benefits our residents.
We’re investing in community safety, supporting local policing, and working to make our streets safer. We’re also protecting vital local services that people rely on every day.
These missions aren’t just words – they’re promises we are keeping. Every cleaner street, every new home, every job created is another step towards a better Harlow.
This is not just about building new spaces – it’s about building pride, opportunity, and a future worthy of our great town. Together, we are Building Harlow’s Future.
