A man has died a day before Christmas Eve after a flat fire in Walthamstow, reports our sister-site London Now.
Firefighters were called to the blaze on Darndale Close on Monday (December 22) at 7.08am.
Crews tackled the fire which resulted in part of a first-floor flat being damaged.
Medics took a man to hospital following the incident, but he was pronounced dead the following day (December 23).
Further information about the fire has not been shared at this time other than crews from Walthamstow and surrounding fire stations were called to the scene.
However, it is understood that the cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
