Voluntary Action Epping Forest (VAEF) has partnered with specialist share‑donation charity ShareGift to help raise much‑needed income by encouraging supporters to donate low‑value shareholdings.

ShareGift provides a simple way to dispose of unwanted shares that may be too small or too complicated to sell.

ShareGift collects these small shareholdings, pools them together, sells them when viable, and then donates the proceeds to charities like VAEF. Although ShareGift accepts shares of any value, most donations it receives are worth £20 or less.

As well as making a significant difference to VAEF, donating shares can also offer financial benefits. Donors may be able to claim Income Tax relief on the value of shares given to charity, along with exemption from Capital Gains Tax.

To date, ShareGift has distributed more than £50 million to thousands of charities. Grants are guided in part by donor suggestions, so it is important that supporters mention VAEF when donating.

To donate your shares, visit: sharegift.org, call the ShareGift team on 020 7930 3737, or email: help@sharegift.org — and remember to mention VAEF.

Jacqui Foile from VAEF said, “We would be so grateful if you could help support us by donating any size of shareholdings you may have to ShareGift and mentioning VAEF.

“It would make a massive difference to us and allow us to continue helping isolated and vulnerable people in the Epping Forest area”.

VAEF offers a wide range of services which the funding would support, including:
