A man in his 60s has been found dead in Walthamstow prompting the launch of a murder investigation.
Our sister site London Now reported at 8.59pm yesterday (February 20) officers were called to a property on Westbury Road following reports of a stabbing.
A Met Police spokesperson confirmed a man was pronounced dead at the scene after officers and paramedics found him with "stab wounds to his chest".
Officers are in the process of informing his next-of-kin.
The investigation is being led by homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command and urgent enquiries are ongoing to establish what led to the attack.
Four men were arrested later that evening on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.
Two are aged in their 20s and two are aged in their 50s.
Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, leading the investigation, said: “We are working around the clock to understand exactly what led to this man’s murder.
“While four men have now been arrested, this remains an early-stage investigation and we still need information from the public.
“If you saw or heard anything, or have any details that could assist us, please come forward.”
