A film about the life of music legend Marianne Faithfull will be screened at an east London cinema.

Broken English will be shown at Forest Cinemas in Walthamstow for one night only on March 21, starting at 8.15pm.

The screening is presented by the McGuffin Film Society and is the only Waltham Forest showing during the film’s UK cinema release.

Directed by BAFTA-winning duo Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, the film features the final interviews and a farewell performance by Faithfull, who died last year.

Born in Hampstead and educated at a convent school, Faithfull rose to fame in the 1960s with her debut single and quickly became a defining figure of the era.

Her life took a troubled turn before a dramatic comeback saw her hailed as a high priestess to the alternative music scene.

The film is narrated in part by Tilda Swinton and includes appearances from Beth Orton, Courtney Love and Derek Jacobi.

Tickets are available exclusively via Ticketlab. No tickets will be sold at the venue.
