THE Odeon in South Woodford has a busy weekend, with blockbusters and family favourites set to run throughout.
The line-up features a mix of recent releases and anniversary showings.
On the agenda for Friday is The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, an animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is a space‑hopping animated adventure that sends Mario, Luigi and Peach across floating planets to stop Bowser’s cosmic takeover.
It mixes slapstick humour, gravity‑bending action and lush, stellar visuals, while nodding to the original games’ orchestral score and inventive planet‑by‑planet level design.
Building on the popularity of its predecessor, The Super Mario Bros Movie, which was released in 2023, the tale runs for about an hour and 38 minutes and is scheduled for 12pm, 2.30pm, 5pm, and 7.30pm.
The BAFTA award winning Zootropolis 2 will also be showing, featuring Judy Hopps, the bubbly rabbit cop, and her sidekick, fox Nick Wilde, for their most challenging adventure yet.
Zootropolis 2 is Disney’s record‑breaking animated sequel, returning to the mammal metropolis with a bigger, more political mystery.
Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, now established police partners, investigate Gary De’Snake, a mysterious reptile whose arrival exposes a buried history of prejudice and a cover‑up involving Zootopia’s true founding.
The story blends sharp humour, brisk action and emotional beats about inclusion and historical truth, while expanding the world to long‑excluded reptile communities.
This film will screen at 9.45am in an Odeon Kids screening for just £1 per ticket.
This film is almost two hours long.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will continue showing on Saturday at the same times as Friday: 12pm, 2.30pm, 5pm, and 7.30pm, while Zootropolis 2 will air at 9.45am for the Odeon Kids slot.
On Sunday, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will be screened at the same times as on Friday and Saturday.
The anniversaries of two classic films will be commemorated with specials screenings on Sunday.
Romeo + Juliet (30th Anniversary) will be shown at 2pm for the adult starting price of £5.
Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Clare Danes, it mixes Shakespeare's classic prose with contemporary imagery in a brilliant interpretation of the timeless tale of star-crossed lovers.
Stand by Me (40th Anniversary) will be screened at 5.30pm, again for the starting price of £5.
The film follows a writer's recollections of a boyhood journey to find the body of a missing boy, after the death of a friend.
Both films will be showing in screen three.
Zootropolis 2 will steal the early hours again, showing at 9.45am as part of Odeon Kids.
