Four men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 24-year-old was stabbed to death in Leyton, London Now reports.
A crime scene is in place on Leyton High Road and on Saint Georges Road, after the Metropolitan Police was alerted to reports of a fight involving a group at around 12.40am this morning (April 23).
At the scene, a 24-year-old man was found suffering stab wounds.
He was pronounced dead a short time later.
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Four men, two aged 24 and the others 22 and 25, were arrested on suspicion of murder nearby and remain in police custody.
A major emergency service presence remains in place, with forensics officers seen working at the scene, our sister title London Now reports.
Chf Supt Rhona Hunt said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones – and with everyone affected by this tragic incident.
“We understand the concern this will cause within the community. While arrests have now been made, and we currently believe this to be an isolated incident, there remains a significant police presence in the area as our enquiries continue.
“The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, and was preceded by a significant disturbance involving a number of individuals. We are therefore keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard something.”
