A long-awaited return to the road became reality for a Walthamstow man after he won a new car.

Mazin Ali won a brand new Jaecoo 7 Delux, worth £29,355, through an online BOTB competition after spending a year without a car.

Mazin said: "Wow, I can’t believe it. I had this feeling or hope that I might win something but I just can’t believe it has actually happened.

"All I can say is try to keep believing that good things will happen.

"I sold my car and I couldn’t afford to buy a new one so I don’t have a car at the moment. This will make such a difference to us as a family."

He was at home during last week’s heatwave when BOTB presenter Sean Hall arrived at his doorstep with the surprise.

He described himself as "shaking" after hearing the news and said he planned to take his family out to celebrate.

Although winners can choose a cash alternative, Mazin has opted for the new motor so he can get back on the road.

BOTB presenter Sean said: "There has been some fabulous weather and we made the most of the beautiful sunshine to share some good news with a very lovely winner.

"Mazin was at home with his family when we called to tell him he had won, so it was extra special for us that he got to share that moment with them.

"I think it will really make a difference to Mazin to be back on the road again in his own car and I am delighted for him."

Founded in 1999, BOTB has given away prizes to more than 637,000 people, including £155m worth of cars so far.

The company gives away a new car every week as part of its dream car competition, along with other lifestyle prizes.
