The council has received two new applications for house extensions and redevelopment in Walthamstow and Leyton.
At 29 Woodstock Road, Walthamstow (E17 4BH), plans have been submitted for a dormer roof extension to the main rear roof, along with two roof lights on the front roof slope.
The applicant also proposes a single-storey rear extension, which would increase ground-floor living space while adding extra accommodation in the loft. The property lies in Upper Walthamstow.
In Leyton, an application has been lodged for a more substantial redevelopment at 40 Wilmot Road (E10 5LU).
The proposal involves demolishing the existing two-storey terraced house and its extensions, and building a new three-storey single-family terraced home in its place (Use Class C3).
The scheme includes lowering the ground-floor level, which typically allows for better ceiling heights or improved access, and would create a larger, modern replacement dwelling in keeping with the terraced street.
Both applications are subject to public consultation and assessment by Waltham Forest Council’s planners, who will consider issues such as design, impact on neighbours and local planning policies before making a decision.
