ACCLAIMED Redbridge comedian, playwright and actor Ken Campbell has died suddenly at the age of 66.
Mr Campbell, who was born in Ilford on December 10 1941, was found in his home in Epping Forest yesterday.
The cause of his death is currently unknown, but he was reportedly not believed to have been ill.
Mr Campbell was well known for his theatre work, including the Ken Campbell Roadshow, which helped boost the careers of stars such as Bob Hoskins and Sylvester McCoy.
He also won gained praise from critics with his big screen performances in films such as A Fish Called Wanda and Derek Jarman’s The Tempest, along with his involvement in theatre and radio adaptations of Douglas Adams' A Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
In his later life he presented a number of Channel Four television programmes on science fiction and the paranormal, including Brainspotting and Reality on the Rocks.
